L’Ouverture 1812 de Pjotr Iljitsj Tchaïkovski commémore la victoire de l’armée russe sur celle de Napoléon en 1812. Après une introduction solennelle comprenant un hymne religieux et interprétée par les bois graves, il y a une confrontation de la Marseillaise avec l’hymne national russe de l’époque. Le succès de cette ouverture est dû en partie à l’inclusion de cloches et de coups de canon qui accompagnent l’hymne du Tsar vers le final.
